Here's a little mini-adventure you can have over the weekend.
Have fun. Take photos for me.
Love, dan

Instructions:

Venture to a nearby town that you've never been to and know little-to-nothing about.
   - If you live near a highway, get on it and drive until you get to a random exit with a cool name.
   - If you don't live near a highway, just pick a direction, set a time-limit and drive randomly.
   - If you live in a city or otherwise don't have a car, hop on a train. Your destination doesn't have to be far, but it must be somewhere you've never been to and you don't know anything about. Make sure you bring a camera (disposable is fine) or a camcorder. Also, I recommend dragging someone you know along.

Explore the town as if you're a tourist vacationing in a foreign country.
See the sights. Sample the cuisine. Observe the locals. Make sure you take plenty of pictures or videos to force your friends and family to look at later. Try to appreciate the scenery and take in as much as you possibly can - who knows when you'll have the opportunity to visit a place like this again.

Bonus points for making it your own.
   - Take pictures with the locals.
   - Ask people to take your picture in front of various monuments and buildings which may or may not be significant.
   - Make a flag and plant it somewhere.
   - Buy postcards and send them from the local post office.
   - When getting food, try something new and be enthusiastic about it. Tell restaurant staff how you feel about their nation's delicacies.
   - Dress like you don't care who knows you're a tourist. Don't forget your fanny pack.
   - Come up with something I haven't thought of.

Send me stuff!
If you do this and send me the resulting photos or videos (or souvenirs) I'll make a gallery of them here.
Send me things at:

(Bonus Incentive: Participate and send me something within a week and I'll send you a link to a special sneak peek of a ridiculous little video I'm working on.)

This project is based on an adventure that Matt and I had over winter break -
check out the photos from our trip.
Surely you can do better.
